Christmas on Halloween Night

I quilted a Christmas table runner for a friend today. I outline quilted the teacups and free-motioned steam coming from the cups. You can see from the back of the quilt that I quilted berries and holly leaves in the border. Choosing a thread color was a little tricky. People who do not quilt their own quilts sometimes do not take into account what the thread used on the top will look like on the back. The backing she chose was white so I didn't want the thread to be too garish on the back. I used gold thread and it blended with the fabric and matched well with the gold in the fabric on the front. I hope she is happy with it. I also hope she never sees the crooked, cruddy picture I took of her "sewpiece"!

Much love!
